Opening Doors: Sharing

We know that college and seminary students who find affordable housing at Glenwood House, located in North Minneapolis’ Harrison Neighborhood, are able to do transformational ministry in that community. Fueled by grateful generosity, the doors of Glenwood House open both ways - inward and outward. Our gifts will help keep this transformative ministry alive.

Details

  • Glenwood House, a new duplex located across the street from Redeemer Lutheran Church, our ministry partner, is a project of the Redeemer Center for Life.
  • Since opening in 2013, Glenwood House has provided affordable living space for 11 college and seminary students.
  • Those students have given more than 4,000 hours of volunteer ministry to the residents of the Harrison Neighborhood.

Door #3 aligns with our value of grateful sharing.

Joe Davis, Glenwood House residentWho benefits? Dozens of current and future college and seminary students in need of affordable housing and hundreds of Harrison neighborhood children, youth and adults. The money will be used to pay down the mortgage on Glenwood House. In 2012, we promised our ministry partner, Redeemer Lutheran Church, that we would contribute $100,000 for this project, along with some sweat equity. Many of our members volunteered generously of their time to help build Glenwood House, which now provides affordable housing for college and seminary students who do transformational ministry in the Harrison Neighborhood.
