Welcoming. We give thanks to God for inspiring faithful and generous giving that has allowed us to continue to be good stewards of our facility. We have updated technology, remodeled rooms, re-purposed stained glass windows, replaced carpeting and doors, installed new heating and air-conditioning units, as well as digital signage both inside and outside the church. The purpose of these enhancements is to help us open our doors to our community in new and more effective ways, and in doing so, proclaim the good news and share the love of God with more people. Watch the video summary below.
Collaborating. $200,000 was gifted to help launch Onward Eden Prairie which became a 501(c)3 non-profit in August, 2018. Since October 2018 4 precariously housed young adults have lived in the house receiving the support of a social worker. Immanuel’s Kim Rathjen, Coordinator of Inreach & Outreach, works with a community-wide board. Onward Eden Prairie rents an Immanuel owned house. For additional details and to stay informed on the project please visit Immanuel & Onward.
Sharing. $100,000 was gifted to Redeemer Lutheran Church to support the development of the Glendale House. Redeemer formed a plan to tear down a blighted property across the street from the church and build a duplex for student housing. Students from Luther Seminary, Augsburg College, and others interested in urban ministry live in the property for a reduced rent in exchange for service in the neighborhood. Immanuel not only provided volunteers to work on the construction but gifted $100,000 from our Opening Doors Capital Campaign to help pay for this new housing ministry. More information.
