The inaugural camp/hike for this new ministry group will be in late April up at Tettegouche State Park. The park is open year round including the shower building. The park is also on the edge of the Superior Hiking Trail for either a day hike, or a quick overnight on the Superior Hiking Trail. If we plan for April we could have much of the park to ourselves, and be in cold enough temps to prove your “Minnesota Mettle”.
Watch the Immanuel Camping Ministry facebook page for further details.
Please contact Dave Nieting if you would like to help get this new ministry off the ground, the time requirement is enormous about 10 minutes a month.
The goal of this group is to gather together “two or more” God worshiping, Jesus lovin’ people together; under the stars to marvel at our Creators works in the middle of nowhere.
April 28-30 (If you want you can come up on the 29th)
Inaugural Trip will be to the Baptism River Campgrounds in Tettegouche State Park on the North Shore. Baptism River and first camp, how fitting.
The goal of this ministry is to hike a little, eat a little, worship a little, and just lollygag about. The beauty of this group is that we have just one common goal, to enjoy and marvel at God’s great big beautiful creation.
Tettegouche State Park is about 4 hours away if you include one short stop at Tobies…
Tettegouche State Park charges $17 night and showers are included for the Cart in Sites. There are hike in sites at the Baptism River Campgrounds as well as the Lake Superior Hike in Campgrounds on the lake front, or we can also hike in to the Wilderness on the Superior Hiking Trail, for some wilderness camping with no reservations and free.
Dave fell in love with Hiking/Camping on the Montana Big Horn Mountain trip and wanted to have the opportunity to do the same on a smaller scale closer to home. That is what this ministry is mirroring.
Most likely it will be cold with a night time temperature near freezing. We will have to have a meeting before we go to do a gear check.
There is also an Immanuel Hiking/Camping Facebook Page.
